Savannah Police Department Detains Suspect Linked to May 30th Shooting

SAVANNAH – The Savannah Police Department (SPD) has arrested one person in connection with a shooting that took place on May 30.

SPD has arrested Terry Butler, 22, in connection with a domestic shooting that left an adult male with a non-life-threatening injury.

According to SPD, at approximately 8:00 p.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting near the 200 block of W. Montgomery Cross Rd.

The SPD found an adult male victim with a gunshot wound to the torso. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arrived at the scene and took him to Memorial Health University Medical Center for medical care.

Butler, the suspect, was detained on the scene. After initial investigation, Butler was charged with:

  • Aggravated assault
  • Reckless conduct
  • Possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
