EMBREEVILLE, Tenn. (WJHL) — In the Embreeville community of Washington County, Tennessee, a man found himself behind bars after deputies reportedly uncovered two ounces of a substance they suspect is fentanyl.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) shared in a Monday press release that Charles Burgin, 41, was apprehended near the 4000 block of Highway 81 South. During the arrest on Friday, Burgin allegedly informed deputies that the bag they found in his possession contained one ounce of cocaine.

“Testing indicated the substance is believed to be fentanyl,” the statement detailed. “The bag weighed in at 2.016 ounces (56.699 grams).”

Burgin now faces charges for the Manufacture, Delivery, or Sale of a Controlled Substance. After being booked into the Washington County Detention Center, he was released on a $20,000 bond. Burgin was slated to appear in court on Monday.
