CENTRAL ILLINOIS (WCIA) — Saturday was packed with significant matchups in college and high school sports, with both Illinois and Parkland hosting games.

The Illini lost their last home game of the season against Ohio State, ending their season as they missed qualifying for the 12-team Big Ten softball tournament.

Parkland emerged victorious in their first game of the Region 24 Tournament. The Cobras will face either Lincoln Land or Lewis & Clark on Monday for the regional championship.

EIU won a pair of games over Western Illinois to secure a second-straight OVC regular season title.
