The Falcon 9 rocket will carry Northrop Grumman’s upcoming Cygnus mission (NG-23) to the International Space Station, departing from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.
NASA has announced that the Cygnus XL spacecraft will transport over 11,000 pounds of scientific instruments, research materials, and supplies to the space station. This delivery includes resources for the production of semiconductor crystals in space and tools to enhance cryogenic fuel tank technologies.
Liftoff is targeted for 6:11 p.m, with a backup launch opportunity available on Monday, at 5:49 p.m.
SpaceX confirmed that this mission marks the fourth use of the first stage booster, which has previously been employed for the Ax-4, Crew-11, and a Starlink mission.
Following stage separation, Falcon 9 will land on Landing Zone 2 (LZ-2) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.
