Crime Stoppers seeking tips on power tool burglar in Springfield

In Springfield, Illinois, Crime Stoppers is seeking the public’s assistance after over $1,000 in power tools were stolen last week. The organization, along with the Springfield Police Department, is aiming to identify the suspect involved in the burglary on the 2800 block of S. 6th Street.

The incident occurred on Thursday, August 7, when officers responded to a call about a garage door that had been forcibly opened. Upon investigation, they found that power tools valued at more than $1,000 had been taken from the site.

The suspect was observed wearing a striped long-sleeve jacket and carrying a backpack. More images of the suspect are available on the Crime Stoppers website.

Anyone with information about the case or who can identify the suspect is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers by calling 217-788-8427, submitting a tip via their website, or using the P3 app. Tips that lead to an arrest could be eligible for cash rewards of up to $2,500, and all tips will remain anonymous.
