ORLANDO, Fla. – A teenager, aged 19, was apprehended on Monday following allegations of a sexual assault on a woman in the vicinity of Universal CityWalk Orlando, as detailed in the arrest affidavit.

Authorities reported that they received a call concerning a potential sexual offense around 1 p.m. on the sidewalk outside Universal CityWalk Orlando.

The victim recounted to officers that she had left CityWalk near Margaritaville at approximately 1 p.m., proceeding alone along the sidewalk in the direction of the Universal Orlando hotels.

While she was beneath a bridge, an unfamiliar man riding a conspicuous bright blue e-bike approached from the left. As she moved to the right side of the path to allow him to pass, the situation took a turn.

Instead of continuing on his way, the man reduced his speed and, without getting off the bike, extended his right hand to inappropriately touch her genital area over her shorts. The affidavit notes that the victim, wearing thin yoga shorts, felt the man’s finger penetrate the fabric.

Reacting swiftly, the victim shouted, “Don’t touch me!” prompting the suspect to hastily depart towards the resort area.

Shortly after, the victim found the suspect lying near some bushes on the left side of the path with his pants down, masturbating, according to the affidavit.

The victim told police that when he saw her with her cellphone out, he said, “Oh, sh*t!” pulled his pants up, and rode away on the e-bike.

The victim returned to the CityWalk security screening area and called the police.

According to the affidavit, provided a photograph she took of him the suspect at the scene and provided a physical description.

Orlando police said that Universal Orlando security located a man matching the suspect’s description riding near Hollywood Way and Turkey Lake Road. Orlando police then made contact with the suspect and placed him under arrest.

While making a court appearance, the suspect’s father alleged that his son has been diagnosed under the Baker Act and has mental health issues. Because of that, News 6 has decided not to show the suspect’s photo or name him.

The 19-year-old faces charges of sexual battery and exposure of sexual organs.

    The investigation is ongoing.
