(NEXSTAR) – Trader Joe’s is bringing its vaguely nautical vibes to a slew of new cities in the coming months.

The grocery chain has updated its “Opening Soon” section to list 34 upcoming locations, with more than half a dozen added since the last update in July.

Many of these new Trader Joe’s stores are scheduled to open in the coming months. The latest additions, which are in California, Connecticut, Washington D.C., Florida, New York, South Carolina, and Texas, have an estimated opening timeline of three to six months, but this can vary significantly, as per a Trader Joe’s spokesperson.

When an opening date is determined, it gets added “to the store’s local page,” the spokesperson said.

Hoping for a Trader Joe’s store to open closer to your area? Trader Joe’s executives have said that new store locations are selected based on a variety of factors such as the area’s population density, customer traffic trends, and parking space availability. They also look for retail areas that align well with the Trader Joe’s brand, as marketing executives Tara Miller and Matt Sloan shared in a 2024 episode of the “Inside Trader Joe’s” podcast.

“We have to look at a huge number of potential sites to make sure that we wind up getting the best site that we can,” Sloan said.
