MARION COUNTY, Fla. – An overpass was hit by a dump truck early Wednesday, leading to the shutdown of Interstate 75 in Marion County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The collision happened around 2:30 p.m. on I-75 south at County Road 320, north of Ocala.
The FHP said the truck struck the C.R. 320 overpass, sending debris onto the interstate.
All southbound traffic is being diverted off at Exit 374.
Video from the scene shows concrete chunks strewn across I-75.
Motorists are urged to use extreme caution if traveling in the area.
No other details, including whether the overpass is structurally safe, have been released.
