Fatal boating accident on Skull Creek in Hilton Head Island

BEAUFORT COUNTY, S.C. () – The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) is investigating a fatal boating accident that occurred late Friday evening.

At around 9:45 p.m. on June 28, emergency crews from the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) and the U.S. Coast Guard responded to a boat accident report in the Skull Creek vicinity of Hilton Head Island.

Upon arrival, the vessel was located with four individuals on board.

Two people were injured and were taken to a nearby hospital for medical care. Sadly, the other two individuals were discovered dead at the scene.

The Beaufort County Coroner’s Office will release the identities of the deceased pending notification of their next of kin.

The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.
