Trending Update: Second Annual “Love Doesn’t Hurt” 5K Run/Walk

AUGUSTA, Ga () – As a child, Tamika Rouse experienced the devastation of domestic violence.

Her mother, BeBe, was killed by her husband of six years.

BeBe had escaped the abuse but was tricked into meeting him to talk with an attorney. Then, the unimaginable happened.

Tamika and her two brothers were left without their beloved mother.

Now, Tamika is using her past hurt to help heal others now and in the future.

She started the “Love Doesn’t Hurt 5K Run/Walk” to raise awareness of the growing problem of domestic violence.

Dee Griffin from NewsChannel 6 engages in a discussion with Rouse, Richmond County Solicitor General Omeeka Loggins, and April Jackson from the Cumbee Center regarding the rising issue of domestic violence and the support available for those affected.

The walk and run will be held beginning at 8 a.m. at the Mill Trail Head, behind the Kroc Center, located at 109 Eve Street in Augusta.
