Trio Apprehended After Chase in Glynn County

GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. () — Three people have been arrested after a vehicle pursuit took place in Glynn County on Saturday.

A chase ensued when an officer from the Glynn County Police Department (GCPD) supposedly tried to pull over a car leaving I-95 at Spur 25.

During the chase, officers allegedly noted that a passenger was throwing a handgun from the vehicle in the College Park subdivision. After the incident, officers recovered the firearm.

With assistance from Georgia State Patrol (GSP), the pursuit ended after the suspect vehicle slid off the roadway and crashed into a Georgia Power traffic light support pole. Georgia Power has inspected the pole and secured a low-ranking power line.

Zhonae Scott, the driver, is facing multiple charges related to fleeing and traffic violation.

Harrison Gibbons, a male passenger and a convicted felon, was charged with several firearms violations for throwing the handgun from the vehicle.

Alyssa Gonzalez, a second passenger, was charged with possession of schedule II narcotics.

This is an ongoing investigation. Anyone with information on this case should contact GCPD’s non-emergency line at 912-554-3645.
