WASHINGTON (The Hill) — On Thursday, President Trump criticized the Wall Street Journal for an article discussing his ties with Jeffrey Epstein, a wealthy financier and convicted sex offender.

The publication claimed to have uncovered a birthday message purportedly sent by Trump to Epstein in 2003. Trump disputed this, stating he did not author the message and intends to take legal action against the publication.

On his TruthSocial account, Trump stated, “President Trump will be suing The Wall Street Journal, NewsCorp, and Mr. Murdoch soon. The media needs to commit to honesty and avoid relying on potentially nonexistent sources.”

“President Trump has already beaten George Stephanopoulos/ABC, 60 Minutes/CBS, and others, and looks forward to suing and holding accountable the once great Wall Street Journal,” the statement continued.

The Hill has contacted the White House for comment.

An hour prior, the Journal detailed a message typed in the shape of a naked woman.

“We have certain things in common, Jeffrey,” one line in the letter, which appears to feature Trump’s signature, reads.

“A pal is a wonderful thing. Happy Birthday — and may every day be another wonderful secret,” says the final line.

Alan Dershowitz and Leslie Wexner reportedly also wrote similar letters to Epstein, according to the Journal.

However, Trump told the Journal, “I never wrote a picture in my life. I don’t draw pictures of women,” he said. “It’s not my language. It’s not my words.”

Vice President Vance chimed in, coming to Trump’s defense on social media, criticizing the Journal for the piece.

“Forgive my language but this story is complete and utter bull—-. The WSJ should be ashamed for publishing it,” Vance wrote.

“Where is this letter? Would you be shocked to learn they never showed it to us before publishing it? Does anyone honestly believe this sounds like Donald Trump?”
