ORLANDO, Fla. – A flood watch is currently in place for Volusia and Brevard counties, lasting until 8 p.m. on Tuesday.
The forecast predicts a widespread rainfall accumulation of 2 to 4 inches across the affected areas, with some isolated regions potentially experiencing more than 5 inches of rain.
Although the rainfall is much needed, it is expected to be heavy at times and may repeatedly drench the same locations, particularly along the I-95 corridor.
Additional heavy showers are anticipated to form overnight and could persist along the coast during the morning commute.
As the day progresses, the rain is expected to become more scattered by the afternoon and continue into the evening.
The weather outlook indicates rain will persist in the region through Thursday.
Rain remains in the forecast through Thursday.
