USPS, FedEx announce recommended shipping dates for 2025 holiday season

ALBANY, N.Y. (WTEN/WXXA) – With Christmas less than 100 days away, the United States Postal Service and FedEx have shared their suggested shipping deadlines for the holiday period.

If you are looking to have your letters and packages arrive before Dec. 25, here are the dates you should know:

USPS holiday shipping dates

Contiguous U.S.

  • USPS Ground Advantage service: Dec. 17
  • First-Class Mail: Dec. 17
  • Priority Mail: Dec. 18
  • Priority Mail Express: Dec. 20

Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and U.S. Territories

  • USPS Ground Advantage service: Dec. 16
  • First-Class Mail: Dec. 17
  • Priority Mail: Dec. 18
  • Priority Mail Express: Dec. 20

FedEx holiday shipping dates

  • FedEx Ground Economy: Dec. 15
  • FedEx Ground and FedEx Home Delivery
    • Five-day transit: Dec. 17
    • Four-day transit: Dec. 18
    • Three-day transit: Dec. 19
    • Two-day transit: Dec. 22
    • One-day transit: Dec. 23
  • FedEx Express Saver: Dec. 19
    • Dec. 20 with an additional charge
  • FedEx 2Day, 2Day AM: Dec. 22
  • FedEx Overnight (First, Priority, and Standard): Dec. 23
  • FedEx Same Day: Dec. 24
