Vermilion Co. organizations partner to shed light on local jobs, education opportunities

DANVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — Danville organizations are collaborating to keep students excited and employed within the community.

Vermilion County Workforce Education is a partnership created between Vermilion Advantage, DACC and Vermilion Vocational Education Delivery System.

Their upcoming social media campaign aims to educate both teens and their parents about the job opportunities available locally, with the aim of retaining local talent.

“Certainly, some students will desire to move to the big city, which is fantastic. You should explore and pursue your passions, but also recognize the benefits of staying in a smaller community,” said Director Jodie Ingram. “Vermilion County is an excellent place to live, but there’s room for growth and change. By staying, you can contribute to this transformation and help shape the future of Danville and Vermilion County.”

The campaign starts next week on Instagram, Facebook and TikTok. It will work to not only highlight job opportunities but also paths to education.
