PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) A man was arrested at a rest stop in Albany, Oregon, after officials say he pointed a gun at people, then engaged in a standoff with Oregon State Police troopers late Friday afternoon.
Police initially responded to the Santiam Rest Area after receiving a report of the man pointing a gun at others.
When troopers arrived on the scene, OSP said the man was “not compliant” and entered a vehicle.
Troopers then closed off the rest area and set up a detour.
Footage of the incident obtained by affiliate KOIN 6 News shows the man eventually getting out of his vehicle, then an OSP K-9 unit tackling and biting him just before his arrest.
According to OSP, the man will likely face charges of menacing and disorderly conduct.
His identity has not been released at this time.
