LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – A Walt Disney World vacation is becoming more expensive as the resort raises prices across several popular offerings.
Beginning Thursday, Disney increased the cost of theme park tickets, annual passes and Lightning Lane services.
The most expensive one-day ticket for admission to a single park now costs $229, setting a new high for Walt Disney World ticket prices.
Annual pass prices also rose across all four tiers. The top-level Incredi-Pass increased by $120, climbing from $1,629 to $1,749.
The maximum price for the Lightning Lane Premier Pass went up by $50, from $449 to $499.
Disney did not raise the price of the Lightning Lane Multi Pass, and the resort has not announced an increase in theme park parking rates.
Walt Disney World ticket prices have risen by as much as 97% over the past decade, according to Gavin Doyle, founder of MickeyVisit.com, a Disney news and trip-planning resource.
Here is a closer look at the major changes tracked by MickeyVisit.com.
| Ticket/pass/service | Old price | New price |
|---|---|---|
| 1 Park Per Day – Peak price | $219 | $229 |
| Lightning Lane Premier Pass | $449 | $499 |
| Disney Incredi-Pass | $1,629 | $1,749 |
| Disney Sorcerer Pass | $1,099 | $1,139 |
| Disney Pirate Pass | $869 | $909 |
| Disney Pixie Dust Pass | $489 | $499 |
The latest price increases come as Walt Disney World pursues what Disney describes as the largest expansion in Magic Kingdom history. Planned additions include a Cars-themed land and Villains Land, along with a Monsters, Inc. land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and a Tropical Americas-inspired land at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
“All of these increases come at a time when in-person entertainment is more popular than ever. It is also a time when Cast Member wages are going up,” Doyle said.
