On New Year’s Day, a fleet of over a dozen sailboats, along with their determined crews, took to the frigid waters of Watauga Lake in Hampton, Tennessee, participating in the 26th annual Frostbite Race. Dirk Wilson, the commodore of the Watauga Lake Sailing Club, expressed optimism about the event, saying, “It’s shaping up to be a great day for sailing. Thankfully, the cold won’t be too much of a concern for us.”
