Storm Team 3: Heat & humidity continue along with storm chances

The heat and humidity continue to grip Savannah, Ga., with temperatures hitting the mid-90s and heat indices rising into the triple digits. It’s essential to keep hydrated, minimize outdoor activities, and seek shade when you can—it’s a hot one!

This afternoon, there is still a chance for isolated storms. A high-pressure system is anchored to our south, while an upper-level low to the north contributes to the rain and storm activity. While widespread severe weather is not expected, the heat and humidity may lead a few storms to become strong to severe. Heavy rainfall remains a concern, similar to what we’ve experienced in recent days.

For tomorrow, conditions might dry out slightly with just a few passing showers or storms anticipated. However, with less cloud cover, temperatures could climb even higher into the upper 90s. A heat advisory might be issued, so stay tuned.

As we head into the work week, expect the same pattern to continue: heat, humidity, and scattered storm chances each day. It’s the classic summer combo, so keep your sunglasses, sunscreen, water bottle, umbrella, and backup plans handy all week long.
