Westabou Montessori School announces closure

AUGUSTA, Ga. () – The closure of Westabou Montessori School for the 2025-2026 academic year has been officially announced by its board of trustees.

In a Facebook update, Westabou Montessori School confirmed its closure on Tuesday, August 5. The announcement cited “financial insolvency” as the reason for the shutdown.

“We are committed to assisting families in finding alternative educational avenues and will provide full support during this transition period,” the statement partially reads.

In a pop-up announcement on the school’s website, the following message appears:

“It is with great regret that we announce Westabou Montessori School will remain closed for the upcoming school year. After an exhaustive search for solutions and numerous heartfelt discussions, the Board of Trustees has concluded with the difficult and heart-wrenching choice to close the school as of Tuesday, August 5, 2025, due to financial insolvency.

The school was founded in 2016.
