A BRIT dentist has died after falling from the third-floor window of a flat while on holiday in South Africa.

The tragic tourist, 68, plunged to his death just after midnight on Saturday in Ramsgate, a seaside village on the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast.

Emergency services rushed to the scene at Milton Road after the man fell, according to local authorities.

After arriving at the scene, they found the Brit dentist had suffered critical injuries from the fall.

Ambulance services used Advanced Life Support interventions at the scene in a desperate attempt to save the tourist.

But while he was being transported to hospital, his condition significantly deteriorated.

Despite resuscitation efforts, the Brit tragically passed away when his ambulance reached the hospital.

Craig Botha, the spokesperson for KwaZulu Private Ambulance Service, stated: “While en route to the hospital, the patient’s condition worsened considerably, leading paramedics to initiate resuscitation efforts.”

“Despite the dedicated efforts of our emergency medical team and hospital staff, the patient was sadly declared deceased at the hospital.”

Local cops have launched a probe to investigate the exact circumstances of his death.

Police spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda confirmed that Margate police had started the inquest.

He said: “Reports indicate that the deceased lived alone in his flat and was drinking when he fell.

Brit man 26, found dead in sea off holiday hotspot resort as cops probe mystery death

“He was rushed to the hospital, where he was declared dead.”

Ramsgate, on South Africa’s KwaZulu-Natal south coast, is a small seaside town best known for its Blue Flag beach.

It is a popular holiday hotspot for both locals and tourists known for its swimming, fishing and whale watching activities.

The horror plunge comes after another Brit holidaymaker was found dead following a tragic accident in South Africa.

Last September, a tourist was pulled dead from the sea off a remote South African beach after rescuers raced to save him.

The 47-year-old had been swimming off the Cape Vidal nature reserve beach on the Indian Ocean coast on Sunday when he was spotted struggling to stay afloat.

And in February 2023, another Brit collapsed and died while waiting for his luggage just moments after getting off a British Airways flight in South Africa.

Michael Joseph Morris and his wife had just landed at OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg after having taken off from Heathrow.

But while they were waiting for their luggage, Michael went to the bathroom where he suddenly collapsed, Airports Company South Africa (Acsa) CEO Mpumi Mpofu said.
