An alleged drunk driver has hit a power pole in Sydney’s south-west leaving the car destroyed.

The man was driving an Audi when he suddenly lost control in Earlwood.

He then hit a power pole on Wardell Road.

The front of the black car was crushed after hitting the pole.

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 1.30pm.

No one appears to have been injured from the crash.

An electricity company was also called in to secure the power lines.

A man has been taken to Ashfield Police Station for questioning.
