The will of Robin Kaye, a murdered American Idol music executive, and her rocker husband Thomas Deluca reveals that they left their wealth not only to family and various charities but also included their pets, the Daily Mail reports.

According to court documents accessed by the Daily Mail, Kaye and Deluca distributed $5.82 million of their assets amongst family members, friends, and various charitable organizations they had supported throughout their lives.

Kaye, an award-winning music supervisor on Idol, and her musician husband were found shot dead in their Encino, California, home on July 14.

Authorities suspect that 22-year-old Raymond Boodarian invaded the couple’s residence on July 10, fatally shooting Kaye and Deluca after they returned from grocery shopping.

While it’s still unknown how their White Oak Avenue home’s proceeds will be handled, the couple allocated cash gifts ranging from $100,000 to $1 million each for specific family members and friends from their personal assets.

The couple set aside $100,000 for their beloved parrot Bogey, and gave two close friends $5,000 for the exotic bird’s care.

Additionally, they included a special provision for their pet tortoise, donating it to the California Turtle and Tortoise Club with an accompanying $10,000 from their estate. Moreover, $50,000 annually was designated for the care and living expenses of Deluca’s elderly mother.

According to the petition filed by the couple’s family, the gross fair market value of  the Encino house is $2.5 million but the sprawling six-bedroom, six-bathroom home is valued more at $4.8 million.

Kaye and Deluca bought the home in February 2023, according to records.

The generous couple left the remaining funds to various animal charities, including the Jane Goodall Institute, the Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee and the Lola Ya Bonobo Sanctuary in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Deluca, who penned songs for various artists like Kid Rock and Mickey Dolenz, left all of his instruments to his brother Tim.

Kaye also left a list of diamond jewelry and other precious heirlooms to various family members and friends.

A probate judge will still have to approve the petition filed by the couple’s family members and attorneys.

The couple had planned to add state-of-the-art security technology and a panic room after a rash of burglaries in the ritzy Encino area over the past year.

Security expert Guy Cohen from SecureIT Home told the Daily Mail he visited the couple’s house on May 20 after someone broke into their property.

‘Robin reached out to me and wanted a consultation,’ Cohen, 44, told the Daily Mail. ‘She was nervous because they had just had a break-in the previous evening.

‘An intruder came in through the sliding glass door in the kitchen. They were home and the dog started barking and she yelled and the burglar ran away.’

Search warrants obtained by the Daily Mail showed a neighbor called 911 at around 4pm on July 10 to report an intruder at Kaye and Deluca’s home.

About 40 minutes later, police received a second call from someone inside the couple’s home, claiming to be a resident. According to the warrant, the 911 dispatch operator heard the caller say, ‘Please don’t shoot me’ to someone.

Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman allege Boodarian shot the couple with their own gun after they returned home and tried to confront the 22-year-old.

Kaye and Deluca’s bloodied bodies were not discovered until four days later after a neighbor called the Los Angeles Police Department to conduct a ‘welfare check,’ according to the warrant.

Hochman said at one point, Boodarian called 911 and identified himself to police.

The 22-year-old was arrested on July 15 and is being held without bail at the notorious Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Downtown Los Angeles.

He has been charged with two counts of murder, burglary and special allegations for multiple murders, personal discharge of a firearm and murder while engaging in a robbery.
