Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. said Monday that sales in June jumped 67.9% from a year earlier, releasing the figure ahead of its second-quarter earnings report due later this week.

In the first six months of 2026, TSMC generated total revenue of 2.4 trillion new Taiwan dollars, or about $74.99 billion, marking a 35.6% gain from the comparable period in 2025. June revenue came in at NT$442.68 billion, up 6.2% from May.

Shares of the Taiwan-based semiconductor heavyweight climbed 1% on Monday.

Sravan Kundojjala, an analyst at SemiAnalysis, described the figures as “quite robust,” pointing out that TSMC’s second-quarter revenue topped the upper end of its $40.2 billion guidance range. He also noted that the June performance was notable because the company’s revenue has typically slipped on a month-to-month basis in June over the past four years.

“The demand supply situation in AI is still quite tight and TSMC is sold out on N3, which is targeted by all leading AI GPU and CPUs this year,” he added.

As the world’s biggest contract chip manufacturer, TSMC produces semiconductors used across everything from smartphones to advanced artificial intelligence computing platforms. Its customer list includes major U.S. tech companies such as Nvidia, Apple and Advanced Micro Devices.

“We estimate TSMC is on track to over $40 billion in AI chip revenue in 2026, or close to 25% of its total revenue,” Kundojjala said.

TSMC plans to add two advanced chip packaging plants in the Chiayi Science Park in southern Taiwan, Reuters reported, citing remarks made by Taiwan’s National Science and Technology Council Minister Wu Cheng-wen on Sunday. Wu noted that the site’s first facility is already in mass production, with the second expected to begin shortly.

TSMC, which commands a 73% share of the global pure-foundry market — chips manufactured for clients — in the first quarter of 2026, according to data from Counterpoint Research, is set to report its second-quarter earnings on Thursday, July 16.
