A teenage boy is the newest individual to face charges related to his supposed involvement in the deadly shooting of a criminal figure in Sydney’s western region earlier this year.
Dawood Zakaria, 32, and solicitor Sylvan Singh, 25, were in a Toyota Hilux in Granville when they were shot from a nearby Mercedes on May 25.
Zakaria, who was reportedly connected to the Alameddine crime group, was taken to the hospital with severe head injuries but unfortunately did not survive. Meanwhile, Singh managed to recover despite suffering several gunshot wounds.
Taskforce Falcon was set up days later to investigate the fatal shooting, the latest in a string of alleged underworld attacks.
Early yesterday, police charged a 15-year-old boy with driving a stolen vehicle and being part of a criminal group.
He is due to front a children’s court today, where it will be alleged he drove a getaway car in the shooting.
Three men have previously been charged over their involvement in the shooting and remain before the courts.
