“I had a sixth sense I was going to win Gold Lotto,” she said.
“I just had a feeling in my stomach”.
The Hemmant woman, who is in her 30s, bought the $1.3 million lotto ticket last minute ahead of her election night plans.
“I was just watching the election results and thought I would check my ticket. That’s when I saw six numbers in red in a row”.
At that point she realised she was a winner and was sure the Labor Party would be, too.
“I guess The Lott called the federal election for me – seeing all that red in a row,” she laughed.
The Brisbane resident held one of the four division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4261, with each entry nabbing $1,393,369.77.
The woman said she doesn’t know why she bought that ticket, but it just felt right at the time.
“It was completely fluky. It was meant to be,” she said.
Not sleeping a wink that night, the winner and her husband were too excited about what this money would mean to them.
“This changes everything for us!”
“It just takes a lot of stress off”.
“We can pay off the bills and the mortgage. I want to help my family as well,” she said.
