Forrest Place, located in Perth’s central area, was evacuated when authorities discovered a device containing dangerous chemicals, along with nails and metal ball bearings.

According to law enforcement, this attack was allegedly driven by nationalist and racial motives, specifically targeting First Nations individuals at the protest.

Authorities have indicated that Hall was self-radicalized and acted independently.

He is alleged to have accessed bomb-making guides and engaged with online content promoting a “pro-white male” ideology.

Hall was remanded in custody, and his case was adjourned to September 16 for committal mention in Stirling Gardens Magistrates Court.

The court previously heard Hall was in a vulnerable mental health condition and was living alone when the alleged Australia Day attack happened.

If he is found guilty of the terrorism offence, he faces life behind bars.
