A 31-year-old man is accused of taking a black Toyota Yaris from a business on Logan Road in Eight Mile Plains late Thursday night, only to crash it on MacDonald Street in Kangaroo Point by the following afternoon.

According to police reports, the suspect allegedly targeted a nearby red Toyota Corolla on Main Street shortly after the crash. He forcefully removed a 43-year-old woman from Mango Hill from the vehicle and fled the scene around 3:10 PM.

Not long after, the Corolla was reportedly seen driving erratically on the Story Bridge, culminating in a collision with several cars before rolling over.

Following the incident, the 31-year-old was transported to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, fortunately sustaining only minor injuries.

The suspect now faces multiple charges, including two counts each of unlawful vehicle use, driving without a license, and dangerous operation of a vehicle under the influence. He also faces an armed robbery charge with personal violence.

He is set to appear before the Brisbane Magistrates Court today.
