Joshua Dale Brown, accused of child abuse within Melbourne childcare settings, is now confronting 83 more charges as authorities uncover four more alleged victims.

The 27-year-old is currently dealing with a staggering 156 charges, involving a total of 12 children as alleged victims.

According to Victoria Police, detectives have laid these new charges today, which pertain to both the newly identified four children and the previously known eight children.

  • Six counts of penetration of a child under 12
  • Eight counts of producing child abuse material for use through a carriage service
  • Twenty-three counts of using a carriage service to transmit child abuse material
  • Seven counts of using a carriage service to solicit child abuse material
  • Seven counts of using a carriage service to cause child abuse material to be transmitted to self
  • Two counts of sexual activity in the presence of a child under 16
  • Eight counts of sexual assault of a child under 16
  • Two counts of attempted sexual penetration of a child under 12
  • Two counts of recklessly causing injury
  • Two counts of common law assault
  • Twelve counts of bestiality (these are part of a separate investigation and are unrelated to childcare centres)
  • Reckless conduct endangering serious injury
  • Encouraging a child under the age of 16 to engage in sexual activity
  • Two counts of possessing a drug of dependence
