A cyclist has died following a collision in Melbourne's CBD tonight.

Police said it appears a truck and a cyclist collided at the intersection of La Trobe and King streets at 5.10pm.

The cyclist died at the scene.

The driver of the truck stopped at the location and is assisting police with their enquiries.

Police have cordoned off the area surrounding the collision.
