Danica Patrick has offered a glimpse into her girls’ getaway after her former boyfriend, NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers, made critical comments about their relationship on a recent podcast.
In a candid and explosive interview, Rodgers took aim at the retired NASCAR and IndyCar driver, claiming Patrick had been “depressed” during their time together and saying the pair experienced problems with “intimacy.”
As Rodgers’ remarks pulled her back into the headlines, Patrick has been focused on enjoying time with friends on the other side of the world. She shared a series of photos from a golf trip to New Zealand.
“Top tier girl time,” Patrick wrote alongside a selfie showing her with three friends on the golf course earlier this week.
She later reposted a photo of the group on the fairway at Te Arai Links, captioning it, “Girls just wanna play golf.” In another image, the friends posed with their clubs as Patrick wrote: “Best time in the best place. With my girls.”
The group also shared a selfie with four men who appeared to be their caddies for the day. The photo was captioned: “NZ Dream Team.”

Te Arai Links is regarded as one of New Zealand’s leading golf courses. The resort is located on the North Island, just north of Auckland.
Patrick previously visited New Zealand on a romantic trip with Rodgers in January 2019. At the time, she shared several loved-up photos of the couple kayaking, taking a helicopter tour and tackling her fear of heights with a bungee jump.
Those memories have since faded into the background as the former couple’s public fallout took another contentious turn following Rodgers’ comments about their relationship.
The NFL star’s remarks came more than a year after the former NASCAR driver said her relationship with Rodgers had been “emotionally abusive” and had “wore me down to nothing.”
Patrick and Rodgers began dating in January 2018 and made their red-carpet debut at that year’s ESPY Awards. Rodgers is now poised to begin his final NFL season.
The couple purchased a home together in Malibu toward the end of 2019 and lived there during the first few months of 2020 in the popular California beach community.
However, their relationship didn’t last much longer as they split in July 2020 after just over two years together.
During an appearance on the ‘Not Just Football’ podcast on Thursday, Rodgers hit out at Patrick for suggesting he is a ‘monster partner’ in the interview she gave last year.

‘No one cares what they have to say until they say my name,’ Rodgers said during the interview with his Pittsburgh Steelers teammate Cam Heyward.
‘I dated two women who nobody gives a f*** about unless they drop my name – and they like to say their version of the history of what actually happened.
‘So I’m this monster of a partner and it’s just f***ing horses***. Number one: Why are you still talking about me? It’s been years.
‘I dated Danica. She had just retired [in November 2017]. She was depressed and not fun to be around. But I didn’t leave her because I was trying to be there and be a good partner. Then it was going a certain direction obviously. There was no intimacy; there was nothing.
‘I’m buying a house in Malibu and she goes, “Do you want to buy it together?” And I said no. And she said, “You know what that means then?” And I said, “Yeah, that’s the way things are going.” She said, “Well, let’s get counseling.” Then we got counseling. Then Covid hits and we’re stuck together.
‘She tells a story that she was so blindsided and getting left by you, and that he leaves a trail of blood around him. And I’m like, what are you talking about? That’s not what happened.’
Patrick, who has become a staunch supporter of Donald Trump in recent years, opened up on her relationship with the Super Bowl champion to ex-ESPN broadcaster Sage Steele last summer.
When asked to name the most painful experience of her life, Patrick said: ‘The breakup with Aaron in 2020, because it was sudden. It felt like it was my life.
