Patrick Brammall and Harriet Dyer have captured the hearts of many fans with their enchanting romance, both on and off the screen. The duo currently portrays a married couple, mirroring their real-life relationship.
This dynamic pair, proud parents to two young daughters, are the creative minds and stars behind the hit romantic dramedy, “Colin From Accounts.”
Their palpable on-screen connection is undoubtedly fueled by their real-life marriage. However, some fans might be surprised to learn that Harriet, at 37, is actually Patrick’s second wife.
Prior to Harriet, the “Offspring” actor, now 50, was married to Samantha Nield. Samantha, a production manager and former school teacher, shared a life with Patrick for over a decade.
Samantha’s academic journey took her through communication and media studies at the University of Sydney before she pursued a Master’s degree in education at the University of Melbourne.
Her career has seen her rise through the production ranks, with notable experience including a stint with Channel Seven working on the TV drama “All Saints” back in 2006.
Patrick Brammall, 50, and wife Harriet Dyer, 37, often have fans swooning over their romance, with the pair currently playing a married couple on and off the screen
She briefly left her career in production around 2012 to become a school teacher for a few years.
However, she now works as the senior production manager for Weta FX – formerly Weta Digital – in the New Zealand office, joining the company in 2015.
Samantha and Patrick first met while she was working as a crew member – possibly a production runner – on The Alice in 2005.
Patrick played Matt Marione on the series, and previously told the Herald Sun that he was instantly smitten with Samantha.
‘I thought she was just gorgeous – she still is. She gives me some proper perspective on things. She’s my rock,’ he told the publication in 2014.
Several years after they met, Samantha left the entertainment industry and began working as a prep teacher at a Melbourne primary school.
However, it would seem even then, in the height of their love, there were obstacles getting in the way of their relationship.
At that point in time, Patrick was quickly gaining recognition as a heartthrob for his role as Leo Taylor on the popular Channel Ten series Offspring.

How do you think long-distance relationships shape careers and personal happiness in showbiz marriages?
The happy couple, who share two young daughters, co-created and now star in the popular romantic dramedy Colin From Accounts together
He and his wife at the time faced long periods of separation as he worked on location, while Samantha remained in Melbourne.
‘He’s always been busy working. We made a pact that we wouldn’t be apart for more than three weeks at a time,’ Samantha said.
‘But with Patrick getting more and more work, and my job here, we’ve had to extend that window.’
Nevertheless, the pair remained optimistic about their relationship, with Samantha saying they complemented each other’s personalities.
‘He likes making people laugh and I love to laugh a lot – so we’re a good fit. He corrects my grammar, but he makes it endearing,’ she said.
‘He has the most amazing way of making every person he speaks to feel like the most important person in the room.’
Patrick and Samantha carried out a long-term relationship for about eight years before they tied the knot in 2013.
However, their divorce was later revealed in September 2017 when Patrick gave an interview with The Sydney Morning Herald.
Their on-screen chemistry is thanks in part to their off–screen marriage, but not many fans know that Harriet is actually Patrick’s second wife. Pictured with first wife Samantha Nield
‘We divorced a little while ago. The universe of Google and Wikipedia hasn’t acknowledged that yet, but it’s true. I’m afraid my marriage is over,’ he said.
‘I wouldn’t say I’m back on the market but I’m no longer married.’
It is currently unclear when Patrick and Samantha split; however, she left her teaching job to move to New Zealand in 2015 to begin production work with Weta.
Meanwhile, Patrick met Harriet – his current wife – that same year while filming the Stan detective comedy, No Activity together. The series ran for two seasons.
At the time, Patrick already had Offspring and Upper Middle Bogan under his belt, while Harriet was best known for her role in Love Child.
Patrick went on to move to Los Angeles in 2016, with Harriet quickly joining him in 2017 after they began dating.
‘I think you want to be close to the person you’re with… I think it was a natural thing anyway,’ she told Confidential at the time.
The couple got engaged in 2021 while on holiday in Tampa, Florida, and shocked fans when they then got married just five days later.
The Offspring star, 50, was previously married to Samantha Nield, a production manager and former school teacher. They were together for at least ten years
‘Things to do in Tampa in March. 1. Catch a sunrise, 2. Propose to girlfriend, 3. Get married five days later,’ Patrick shared to Instagram at the time.
Their rush to get down the aisle was soon explained, as just five months later they welcomed daughter Joni Jane Brooklyn Brammall via adoption through a US agency.
‘International Daughters’ Day feels as good a time as any to introduce our little Joni Jane Brooklyn Brammall,’ Harriet said at the time.
‘Born September 16, 2021, and with us from her first moments thanks to her incredible birth mother.’
Patrick and Harriet have since become a family of four, welcoming their second daughter Mabel to the world in February 2025.
‘Welcoming little Mabel,’ Harriet wrote on Instagram. ‘We love her so much and we’re all very grateful. 2/2/2025.’
