There’s nothing quite like the thrill of immersing oneself in new cultures, tasting unique cuisines, and soaking up breathtaking landscapes. It’s these experiences that often bring the greatest joy to travelers worldwide.

According to a recent report, certain destinations stand out as the epitome of happiness for tourists. G Adventures’ Happiness List for 2026 highlights the top 10 experiences and locations that spark joy among travelers.

This comprehensive list was compiled after surveying 8,000 adults planning to travel next year. Participants hailed from the UK, Ireland, the United States, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia, providing a diverse perspective on what makes a trip truly memorable.

Guatemala emerged as a favorite, offering visitors the chance to create lasting memories while indulging in its rich cultural and culinary offerings. This Central American gem invites tourists to dive deep into its vibrant traditions and flavors.

On the opposite end of the climate spectrum, the Arctic also captured the hearts of many. Its stark, icy landscapes and the opportunity for exploration through expedition cruises make it a unique and thrilling destination for those seeking adventure in cooler climates.

A colder destination, the Arctic was also mentioned on the report. Travellers enjoy  taking in the icy views and exploring on expedition cruises.

Elsewhere, Ecuador, in South America, gives tourists the chance to experience the jungle first-hand.

What’s more, it’s a great place to try the local chocolate, with the country being a big producer of cocoa.
