With the long Easter weekend now underway, last-minute chocolate purchases will be a little harder than usual, as supermarkets and big stores shut nationwide.

Although the majority of shops will remain closed on Friday, there are notable exceptions, with different opening hours extending through to Monday.

Here’s a guide to help you navigate shopping this Easter long weekend.

Similarly, all Aldi outlets will operate on Easter Monday, though hours may differ in South Australia.

For precise store hours at Aldi locations near you, it’s advised to consult their website over the holiday weekend.

Most Target stores in Australia will be open on Easter Monday, April 6, 2026. While some locations may operate with reduced holiday hours, typically opening around 9:00 AM or 10:00 AM and closing early.

Most Kmart stores in Australia will be open on Easter Monday, April 6, 2026.

Bunnings stores will be closed on Good Friday and open across the remainder of the Easter long weekend.

Easter Sunday trading hours vary by location, with some stores closed.
