A family in Perth is in distress over the disappearance of their cherished puppy, Ra, who is both rare and valuable, and is believed to have been stolen. They are urgently appealing for his safe return.

For Nicquelle Rhodes, a dedicated dog breeder, Ra isn’t just a pet; he holds a special place in her heart akin to that of a child. “He was born and raised here,” she expresses with unmistakable affection. “I delivered that puppy; I took him out of his birth sack,” she recounts, highlighting the bond formed from the very start of Ra’s life.

Ra’s sudden disappearance occurred under mysterious circumstances from Harrison Road in Mount Richon, along with three other dogs. While the other dogs were quickly located and returned, Ra continues to be missing, leaving his family anxiously searching for answers and hoping for his return.

Ra vanished without a trace from Harrison Road in Mount Richon along with three other dogs.

The others were found soon after, but Ra remains missing.

“The fence has actually been bent here as you can see it’s sort of askew now, it’s completely been bent there,” Rhodes said.

Though the animals were first thought to have run away, the family now believes Ra has been stolen.

“He is a pedigree dog from champion bloodlines and I am concerned he’s been taken for greed rather than by someone who intends to love him,” Rhodes said.

The rare puppy with breeding potential could be worth tens of thousands of dollars.

But for Rhodes and her children, he’s invaluable.

“They’ve had anxiety and panic attacks, they’ve been crying,” she said.

There are additional fears that for a dog like Ra’s breed to be out in the heatwave currently affecting Western Australia that it could be deadly.

The family is urging anyone who has the puppy to take him to a vet or pound, not to just let him loose.

“We are offering a reward for his safe return,” Rhodes said.

“Whatever story you want to make up, we don’t care, we just want our puppy home.”

Police are investigating.
