A father-of-five has been killed after an alleged hit-run in Victoria’s south.
Police said the 36-year-old man died in hospital after being hit by a stolen car in the town of Maffra, 220km east of Melbourne in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The man, who was from the town, was with a friend when he hit on Morrison Street at about 3.40am.
The driver allegedly fled the scene in the stolen Kia, which has since been found on Roberts Court in the town.
The injured man’s friend raised the alarm and emergency services were called.
He was airlifted to a Melbourne hospital where he later died.
