On November 5, law enforcement officials carried out firearm testing near Barrett Lane and Rayner Track. This followed reports of a solitary gunshot heard around 11:45 a.m. that same day, coinciding with the tragic shootings.
Earlier, on August 26, ten police officers were present at a property on Rayner Track shortly after 10:30 a.m. when officers Neal Thompson and Vadim de Waart-Hottart lost their lives, and another officer was injured.
Despite a thorough search of the area, police have been unable to locate any trace of the suspect, Freeman. Authorities remain hopeful that the recent firearms testing will aid in the ongoing investigation.
Victoria Police are urging anyone who might have heard the gunshot to step forward. They are also eager to speak with any individuals who may have discharged a firearm in the area.
