A young girl was rushed to the hospital following a hit-and-run incident involving a motorbike in western Sydney. The rider, accused of leaving the scene without stopping, reportedly struck the child while she was walking along Popondetta Road in Dharruk at around 1:30 p.m. today.

Police allege that the individual on the trail bike continued on their way after the collision, failing to render assistance or check on the injured girl. The incident left the four-year-old with a cut to her head, necessitating immediate medical attention at the scene before she was transported to Westmead Children’s Hospital for further care. Fortunately, her injuries are not deemed life-threatening.

In a swift turn of events, authorities discovered the abandoned motorcycle in a reserve behind Woodstock Avenue. Shortly thereafter, the young rider was apprehended at a nearby residence, bringing some relief to the community and the girl’s family.
