Nicole Kidman recently sat down with Vogue for an interview released on Wednesday, where she candidly discussed embracing risks and reflecting on past mistakes. This conversation comes amid her ongoing separation from longtime partner Keith Urban.

“Risk-taking has always been my way,” she revealed in the magazine’s cover story. “You rise again, learn, and try once more.”

At 58, Kidman finds herself in the limelight with the news of her marital split from the renowned musician. Despite the heightened public interest, she remains unfazed by the digital attention.

“You simply have to walk away from it, or it will bring you down,” she openly stated.

This latest feature marks her 41st appearance on the cover of the esteemed magazine, spanning its editions in Australia and the UK.

While Kidman chose not to discuss the divorce explicitly, her demeanor was described as wry and introspective when reflecting on her experiences in her 50s.

‘How many times do you have to be taught that you think you know where your life is going and then it isn’t going in that direction?’ she quizzed, before stressing the importance of ‘ride-or-die friendships.’

She later reflected: ‘So much to say and so little time to say it. About death and life and joy and grief and loss and sex and why we’re here and what is truth and is truth even necessary.’

Elsewhere, the Hollywood star also touched on the steamier roles that she has had throughout her career, explaining that she doesn’t know why she was so often attracted to those kind of characters.

She told the outlet that in real life, she is in fact quite introverted, but shared: ‘Sex is an important part of our lives and is still, a lot of times, taboo, and it shouldn’t be.’

Kidman announced her separation from country star Urban, effectively drawing a line under their once rock-solid 19-year marriage.

She filed to end the marriage last Tuesday – citing irreconcilable differences – as a source claimed to the Daily Mail that Urban has already moved on with an unnamed female musician.

The well-placed Nashville music business PR source said: ‘The rumor is that he’s with a younger woman in the business.

‘It’s all everyone is talking about. Everyone wants to know who, but so far, that’s a mystery.’

Neither were seeking spousal support: the New Zealand-born Australian singer is worth an estimated $75 million while the Hawaiian-born Australian actress has earned over $250 million.

It then emerged that the pair had signed a parenting agreement over the summer, in which Kidman was granted primary custody of their teenage daughters – 306 days a year compared to a mere 59 days for Urban.

'Taking a risk is what I've always done,' she told the outlet about her career trajectory thus far.

He is entitled to have the girls from 10am on Saturday until 6pm on Sunday, every other weekend. The holidays were also divided up: he gets every Father’s Day and she gets every Mother’s Day and Easter. Thanksgivings and Christmas switch from year to year.

He signed the contract on August 29 before she inked the deal a week later, on September 6.

By Wednesday, the strain of being indoors with her thoughts appeared to become too much and Kidman went out for a hike with her journalist sister Antonia, 55. The pair were pictured in animated discussion on the streets close to Kidman’s Nashville home.

Urban on Thursday landed in Hershey, Pennsylvania – notably not wearing his wedding ring. He performed that night for the first time since the split was made public. Baugh sat the concert out.

Currently on his ‘High and Alive’ tour, on Friday he was performing in Connecticut, and on Saturday night in Virginia. This stretch of his world tour wraps up on October 17 in Nashville.

‘He’s just fallen out of love with Nicole, and the decisions that have had to be made are ones that were and are important to him, as he knows that they aren’t getting back together.’

Now, Kidman has her work to take her mind off things. Current projects include producing the thriller ‘The Silent Wife,’ and developing the film ‘Love, Pain and the Whole Damn Thing.’

She attended the Chanel show at Paris Fashion Week on Tuesday along with her daughters, dressed in a white button-down shirt and blue trousers.

In a video taken by Vogue magazine, Nicole spoke to the camera while preparing for the show, and said: ‘We’re getting ready for the Chanel show, I’m just very nervous.

She was asked, do you feel nervous? And she replied: ‘Yeah I do, I have my daughters coming with me.

‘But I’m very excited for Matthieu [Blazy] because this is a big moment for him, so to be able to celebrate him with his first show with Chanel is the beginning of an incredible journey together. It’s exciting, right’.

Nicole also touched on reconnecting with the brand, and said: ‘They asked me to become global ambassador for Chanel again, it feels like coming home – which is an amazing feeling.

‘I think Matthieu [Blazy] brings his essence to the house, so I’m so excited to be on a journey with him in this way and to be able to announce it to Vogue.’
