The expectant woman, who has asked to remain anonymous, was on her way to her eight-week scan at Balcatta Radiological Clinic when she was hit by a Holden ute that launched out of the car park.

Footage shows the driver carefully edging into a parking spot before it’s believed the driver hit the accelerator, causing the vehicle to fly through a bollard and into the pregnant woman.

The expectant Perth mother was on her way to her eight-week scan when an out-of-control ute hit her in the parking lot of a medical clinic.

“It was sudden. It was shocking. It was so bad,” she said.

The woman and her partner are yet to tell loved ones of the pregnancy, with the scan she was going for her first.

“I was screaming like ‘stop’,” she said, describing the moment the car came hurtling towards her.

“It was like someone was trying to kill me. I know he wasn’t trying, but that’s what it felt like at the time.”

The 25-year-old says if she had taken a few more steps she would have been directly in the centre of the ute’s path.

The reason she hadn’t walked further was because she was waiting for her husband, who had fallen behind to grab his water bottle. That delay potentially saved her life and her baby’s.

“It would’ve been really bad, I can’t even imagine,” she said.

“I was really traumatised yesterday because I was worried about the baby.”

A rescheduled scan on Thursday showed that mum and baby were both safe.

The only injury the woman sustained was a grazed foot.

“I was just looking at the baby and feeling relaxed. I felt very happy,” she said.

“It feels like this is going to be our miracle baby.”
