Triple M radio presenter Chris 'Pagey' Page has surprised listeners by announcing he will be leaving the station at the end of the year

In a surprising turn of events, Chris ‘Pagey’ Page, a familiar voice on Triple M, has announced his departure from the station by the year’s end.

During the Wednesday segment of Breakfast with MG, Jess & Pagey, Pagey revealed that after more than ten years with the network, he feels it’s time to explore new opportunities.

“Sometimes you can do the same thing for too long,” he expressed candidly.

Triple M radio presenter Chris ‘Pagey’ Page has surprised listeners by announcing he will be leaving the station at the end of the year

With a touch of humor, he mentioned that his future endeavors won’t involve the early 4 a.m. wake-up calls he’s accustomed to.

Pagey, visibly moved, shared that the friendships he has built with his Triple M colleagues are ones he cherishes deeply and will endure.

“I have a deep love for this radio station and everyone who works here. It’s like a family,” he warmly stated.

The breakfast radio presenter (pictured with co-hosts Jess Eva, centre, and Mark Geyer, right) said it was time for something different after more than a decade at Triple M

A statement from SCA confirmed the decision shortly after his announcement.

‘Following a career at SCA spanning almost two decades, Triple M’s Chris ‘Pagey’ Page has announced his departure from Triple M Sydney,’ the release began.

‘Beginning his radio career at Newcastle’s NXFM in 2003, Pagey then moved to Triple M Adelaide, before 2Day FM’s Hot 30 night show brought him back to Sydney.

‘In 2010 Pagey joined Triple M Sydney, anchoring a bold breakfast radio experiment called The Grill Team, that included household names from the NRL world. He has remained at Triple M Sydney’s Breakfast show, most recently as anchor on MG, Jess and Pagey and has become a much-loved member of the Triple M family.

‘Pagey will sign off from the Triple M Breakfast show for the final time on Friday 2 December as he pursues his interests outside radio.’

Pagey co-hosts the station’s popular Triple M Breakfast With MG, Jess & Pagey show.

He has been going through some significant life changes in recent years.

Last year, he revealed he was finally sober after spending a month in a treatment facility for alcohol addiction.

He bravely explained his situation on air, saying he wanted to be honest with listeners about why he’d been absent from the show.

Page told his co-hosts he hoped speaking out would help eradicate the stigma surrounding rehab and addiction.

The radio anchor said there’s ‘nothing wrong’ with accepting when ‘something feels out of control’, and there’s always help available for people who need it.
