Rainy weather Anzac Day Australia

Millions of Australians may need to switch up their long weekend plans as the east coast prepares for an Anzac Day deluge.
A cool change is sweeping across New South Wales and Victoria this week and a low pressure system is forecast to bring a rainy washout from now until Sunday.

While some capital cities will enjoy some pleasantly warm temperatures for late April, dark clouds threaten to cast a gloomy shadow over the three-day weekend.

Adelaide is in for a mostly dry weekend with only light scattered showers across South Australia’s south coast.

It’s set to reach a top of 24 degrees on Friday and 20 degrees on Saturday.

The nation’s capital will enjoy a partly cloudy day on Anzac Day with a top of 24 degrees, however a shower or two is expected on Saturday as temperatures drop.

Darwin won’t escape the light showers on Friday and Saturday but temperatures will reach a high of 30 degrees across both days, so it’ll be a gloriously hot few days in the Northern Territory.

But Sunday could bring around 25mm of rain in the Top End.

The cool change is also set to sprinkle some rain across Hobart on Friday despite it being a balmy 21 degrees, before temperatures plunge to 18 degrees on Saturday.
