Considerable efforts and resources have been dedicated to the search for Grant Gardner, as detailed in an August 11 update from the Big Horn County Wyoming Sheriff’s Office on their Facebook page. Gardner, a hiker from Minnesota, has been missing in Wyoming and hasn’t been heard from for over two weeks.

Sheriff Ken Blackburn shared in the post that since their last update, a significant amount of manpower and resources have been committed to finding Grant Gardner, emphasizing that the search operation “has been very active.”

The post includes a partial list of the assets and personnel involved in the search, mentioning the use of “Drones with cameras capable of detecting colors and small disturbances,” “Drones, helicopters, and planes equipped with FLIR technology,” and teams like “Multiple dog tracking units,” “Horse and ground search teams,” along with assistance from the “Wyoming National Guard,” “Private pilots,” among others.

Gardner and his wife Lauren have two children, according to Cowboy State Daily.

“He solo hikes, and he’s been hiking for over a decade,” she told the outlet. “He’s used to this stuff, and he’s very detail-oriented.”

A GoFundMe fundraiser to benefit the family has raised more than $34,000 so far.
