Multiple people injured after shots fired in Croydon Park

A man has been arrested after multiple people were injured in a shooting incident Sydney’s inner west tonight.

Streets in Croydon Park were put on lockdown, with residents instructed to remain indoors after police responded to Georges River Road, close to the Brighton Avenue intersection, around 7.45pm.

“A police operation is under way at Croydon Park after shots were fired,” NSW Police said.

A man in his 50s presented to Canterbury Hospital with a gunshot wound before being transferred to the Royal Prince Alfred, NSW Ambulance said.

Three individuals showed up at Campsie Police Station with minor injuries: a man and a woman, both in their 30s, who were subsequently taken to Canterbury Hospital, and a woman in her 50s.

A man in his 40s suffered facial injuries while sheltering behind glass and was also taken to the RPA.

Five other patients were being assessed at the scene, NSW Ambulance said.

About 9.30pm, a man was arrested in a building on Georges River Road and firearms have been seized, police said.

Roads remained closed in the area.
