An eldery woman has been left brusied and with a brain bleed after she was hit by a child on an e-bike.

An elderly woman sustained bruises and a brain bleed after being struck by a child riding an e-bike.

Robin*, from Balgowlah in Sydney’s north, told 2GB’s Ben Fordham that she had already spent a week in hospital after she was hit by the bike while she was waiting at a bus shelter.

According to the woman, the child did not stop to assist her after the incident, and disappeared from sight as she lay on the ground.

Fortunately, a nearby bus was halted at a red light, and the driver came to her aid.

“The bus driver and another passerby helped me to my feet,” she recounted.

“I waited in the bus shelter until I calmed down, then made my way home, which was just across the street.”

Hoping to obtain CCTV footage from a nearby shop, she found her view blocked by the parked bus. She mentioned she wasn’t the only person in the hospital dealing with e-bike-related injuries.

“When I was having x-rays, the girl said this is the third e-bike for the day,” she said.

“My daughter had her whole arm smashed up, she’s had plates and screws in her, that was nine months ago, and she’s still having physio trying to get the arm going.”
