Six men are on the run after brutally attacking a man with baseball bats near Campbelltown in Sydney‘s south-west.

Police were told the group were in two cars, following a pair of cyclists through the streets of Airds.

One of the vehicles, which was a ute, mounted the curb on Heathfield Avenue and launched onto Riverside Drive at about 10pm last night.

As many as six individuals exited the vehicles, reportedly equipped with bats and other objects, before they confronted one of the cyclists and purportedly attacked him.

Police said the 51-year-old man had been in an argument with the group before he was chased.

He was bashed and left in the driveway of a stranger’s house before he was taken to hospital with arm injuries.

The cyclist is currently too unwell to speak with police about the incident.

The other cyclist managed to get away and police are searching for them.
