Australia’s most acclaimed female soccer star, Sam Kerr, and her fiancée, Kristie Mewis, a professional soccer player from the United States, have confirmed the birth of their first child.
“Our little man is here, Jagger Mewis-Kerr,” the pair said in a joint Instagram post on Thursday.

Last November, Kerr and Mewis joyfully revealed the pregnancy via social media, sharing a photo that highlighted Mewis’ growing baby bump.

Kerr welcomes Jagger into the world after an eventful few years, which include a — of which she was acquitted — and an injury which saw her miss much of the Matildas’ impressive 2023 World Cup campaign.
Mewis — who is an acclaimed athlete in her own right and plays for West Ham United as well as the US national team — met Kerr in 2020. They have been a couple since 2021 and became engaged in September 2023.
