Taylor Adams, a midfielder for the Sydney Swans, found himself in the hospital after being punched in the face during an altercation near the recently reopened Club Rose Bay. The incident left him briefly unconscious.

Police reported that they responded to the scene at Justin Hemmes’ new venue in the eastern suburbs shortly after 10 pm following reports of an assault.

The alleged assault occurred just across the street from the venue.

According to a police statement, “The 32-year-old man was allegedly struck in the face by one of the individuals, resulting in a small cut on his cheek and causing him to fall to the ground, where he lost consciousness for a short time.”

“The individuals involved left the scene before police arrived. It has been indicated that the two individuals are not known to the 32-year-old victim,” the statement added.

Adams received initial care from NSW Ambulance paramedics before being transported to St Vincent’s Hospital for further evaluation and treatment.

Police said inquiries were continuing.

9News.com.au is not suggesting Adams was the aggressor. The alleged attacker was not known to Adams.

Sydney Swans said in a statement they were working with Adams and the police to identify the alleged attacker.

“Sydney Swans player Taylor Adams was the victim of an incident across the road from an Eastern Suburbs establishment last night,” the club said.

“Adams was taken to hospital after the incident for further assessment. He was released from hospital at 7am Sunday morning and will be monitored on a daily basis.

“The Sydney Swans does not tolerate violence in any form and is working with Adams and NSW police to identify the offender.”

Adams joined the Swans in 2024 after nearly 10 years at Collingwood.
