Chris Robertson was last known to be alive while celebrating the AFL grand final with his friends on September 27. Tragically, his body was found three days later at a warehouse located in the industrial area of Lonsdale.

An autopsy indicated that the 49-year-old’s death resulted from a brutal assault.

This morning, a 30-year-old man from Happy Valley was taken into custody and charged with murder.

The suspect has been denied bail and is scheduled to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court tomorrow.

Detective Acting Superintendent Andrew Macrae commented that the arrest brings some relief to Robertson’s family. However, he emphasized that the investigation remains open to the possibility of additional individuals being implicated in the crime.

“We will persist in our examination of the circumstances surrounding Chris’ death and any other parties who may be linked to it. We’re also looking into the actions of anyone who might have aided those responsible for the murder,” he stated.

The arrest comes after a breakthrough last month and public appeals for information.

The car is suspected of being used to transport him to the location, where he was beaten to death.

The registered owner was not a suspect in the murder, as detectives said someone else was driving it.

The investigation remains ongoing, and anyone with information is urged to contact police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
