Authorities are investigating the deaths of a family of four in their home, suspected to be a case of double murder-suicide.
On Friday morning, the bodies of a 50-year-old man, a 49-year-old woman, and their two sons, aged 14 and 16, were discovered in their residence in Mosman Park, a suburb of Perth.
Tragically, three pets were also found deceased at the scene.
According to Detective Jessica Securo, there was no weapon involved in the incident, and the family had no known history of domestic violence.
“While the investigation is still in its early stages, we are currently treating this as a murder-suicide,” Detective Securo informed the media.
“There is no ongoing risk to the community.”
Both children had experienced “significant health challenges”, and the family had previously engaged with care services, Securo said.
A cause of death is yet to be revealed, but a note was found at the home, she said.
